The traditional parade that signals the opening of The Strawberry Fair wound it’s way through the city centre this morning. Drummers, stilt walkers, dancers, dragons and a whole load of fancy dress (fairies to the fore as usual).
The early morning rain abated and though cloudy, the rest of the day remained dry.
By early evening the beer tent appeared to be the most popular (so no surprises there), a spinkling of clothes and hat stalls and all sorts of food. In a short time I caught 3 bands on 3 differnt stages. A singer/songwriter?, a power punk trio and a top country & western quartet..so plenty of variety.
